I wrote a story in The Happy Hoo-Ha trilogy about how black women tend to scream for Jesus while they are getting a Brazilian. One day, I had a woman calling all of the apostles names, which was way more complicated than just calling for Jesus. Saturday, while a woman was waiting for her appointment with me, she was reading that story in my book. It was her daughter who was the client praying to the apostles. She was proud her daughter was in one of my books and bought a copy to show her!
M.E. is the author of The Happy Hoo-Ha Trilogy, which can be found on Amazon as well as Barnes & Noble online. She also wrote a sexy nonfiction series called A Promise of Passion. M.E. has been blogging for years about the trials and tribulations of being a busy Brazilian Wax Technician because her job is that funny!

I waxed a woman who told me her friends call her Fancy Pants now that she gets Brazilians on a regular basis. I liked that nickname. In fact, I think we should all celebrate and have a fancy pants party when we get a Brazilian Bikini Wax!

I was excited to read this recent review of Passion Never Dies. Thank you!!!!
"This book, as with the first book, was VERY real to me. The characters emotions touched my emotions, which were quite raw with the loss, and were joyful with the new relationship and finding passion again when you feel life is over. M.E. has a knack for making the reader feel as if they know the characters. I couldn't wait for the next book!!"
Not only did my girl from yesterday's post twerk like a professional dancer after her Brazilian, she took an array of selfies to show her man what a great job I did!

I can never predict how a woman will respond to getting waxed. Some women are definitely more demonstrative than others. Yesterday, a girl was so excited when I finished her Brazilian that she hopped off the table and started twerking in my full length mirror. It was awesome!

Mark and M.E. has been very busy lately, especially since we have expanded our staff, so the back parking lot has been very full. If you look at the salon, there is a building to the right of it that houses the futon, greek and bike store. Mark's mom owns that building so we share the entire front parking lot. You don't have to park in the back, unless you need that extra time walking in to muster the courage to get a Brazilian!

I was talking to one of my nephew's today. He said the first time I met his wife, I was talking about ripping v-j-jays in a highly animated manner. Yep, that sounds like me. I still feel that animated about my job. I am back in town after taking a week off and I am totally psyched to go back to work Tuesday. Hope to see you at Mark and M.E. next week!

This morning I was thinking about how amazing it is that I have the ability to remove unwanted body hair from virtually any part of the body that men and women are often embarrassed by. Then I started googling baboons, because I thought posting a pic of a hairy animal with a bald backside would be funny. I found the looks of baboon's butts kind of crude, so I scrapped the idea. Ironically, I saw an outdoor musical of the Lion King tonight and there was a baboon in the cast with a huge, bright pink bottom. The little boy next to me kept telling me to look at his butt. It felt like the most strange coincidence. So instead of posting a pic of a baboon's butt, I came across this pic, which is probably what the expression on a baboon's face would be if I actually did wax his butt!

This was my very first book signing at the Lovin' Cup for The Happy Hoo-Ha. Even though I've written a lot more since then, it still seems like yesterday!

Sometimes my professions interferes with ability to relax on vacation. Do you have any idea how badly I wanted to wax this man's back?

I had an inquisitive first grader in the room while I waxed her mommy's legs. She was fascinated by the whole process. She told me that waxing looked like "so much fun!" and that I had the "best job ever!" She was so excited by what I was doing that I was having a difficult time keeping her off the bed. She kept asking me if she could try it. She was too cute and too curious to say no to so I let her wax a couple hairs off her mommy's legs. This was my youngest protege to date!

It just occurred to me that there are countless men and women in our fair city of Rochester, NY who don't have any grass in their Easter Baskets because of the hard work performed by the team at the Mark and M.E. Salon the past few weeks. We hope everyone is thoroughly enjoying this very special holiday!

Continuing with the Winnie The Pooh theme...I had a husband and wife come into the room for Brazilians. It was the husband's first time. He was very cooperative and I was able to perform the service in an efficient and thorough manner. The three of us chatted and laughed the entire time I was waxing him. When he got off the table, his demeanor changed. He was visibly relieved that the wax was over. When I was looking through pics this morning and trying to decide what to blog, I came across this and it reminded me of this client. This is the look that he had on his face when I explained how to clean up after his Brazilian. He stood there looking dazed and confused. When I asked him if he was okay, he said, "I have to admit that I feel a little violated." Then he started to laugh and got dressed. I imagine this type of service makes many people feel that way.

The saga of the girl who pulled my skirt down and spelled a swear word continues...When I lifted her leg that was closest to me, I was worried that she'd kick me in the face. It has happened countless times and I like to be prepared to duck as necessary. After I removed the strip from her body, she brought her leg down, sat up abruptly, and bounced back so she was sitting on the pillow. It was a move that Tigger from Winnie The Pooh would be proud of. That's actually what it reminded me of. I was relieved that our beds are durable enough to hold someone sitting at the very end. I had a vision of it toppling over. There was an awkward moment when she was sitting on the pillow giving me the look like there was no way in hell I was going to wax her other side. She was wrong; I finished her Brazilian in spite of her theatrics. When she got off the table, she told me she was going to refer me to all her friends. Another successful wax at Mark and M.E.

The saga of the girl who pulled down my skirt during her Brazilian continues...As you can imagine, I hear a lot of profanity during my work day. Various expletives are known to come out of my mouth as well. This girl responded in a way that no one has ever done during a wax before; she spelled her swear word instead of saying it. Without warning she said, "F...U...C...K...That Hurted!"

So many firsts with a new client at Mark and M.E. yesterday that I'm not even sure where to begin...As many of you know, women like to hang on to something while they get their Brazilians. Since there are no handles on the bed, they often hang on to me. This girl grabbed my arm, waist, leg and even my backside before she got a hold of my skirt and pulled it down. It was awkward trying to rip OFF the strip while I pulled UP my skirt.

One of my clients was driving home at one in the morning from work. She lives in the country. She swerved to avoid a deer and rolled her car four times. She had to amputate her own finger to get herself out of the car. She walked three hundred yards to the nearest house to get help. The family called 911. She broke her neck, had a mangled arm and missing fingers. Now she has to wear a halo to protect her broken neck. Last week she came in for a Brazilian. Her sister had to help her hold her legs up during the service. She yelled and swore and basically hated every minute of the wax. That is when her sister told her "You walked through a muddy football field with a broken neck and can't handle a little bikini wax!" It was hard not to laugh at the irony of it all.

Another shout out to the Rochester Woman Online magazine for publishing my article entitled "Women On Top." I love writing for you!
I think it's obvious that I'm a HUGE fan of waxing since my license plate says Wax It All!! Thank you to Rochester Women Online Magazine for this article about M.E.
"Did that woman survive that brutal attack from you around 10:30 this morning?" This was a message I received from one of my employees yesterday. I had an overly dramatic woman with very fine hair make so much noise that she was heard on the first and third floors of Mark and M.E. It was a quick and easy wax and her skin was barely pink when I finished. I think she better think twice about having a baby.

There are certain things you can do annually, like eye exams or physicals. Brazilians, on the other hand, are not one of those things. I had several women this week who hadn't been waxed in over a year. Some of those women did zero grooming during that time. Your hair will not come in finer and thinner unless you wax on a more frequent basis. In addition, when you wait that long, you may feel a little more discomfort than the clients that come see me regularly. Unless you enjoy the pain, try to visit me more often. It isn't fun for me either.

Thank you Amy Cavalier for your article about M.E. in Rochester's very own "In Good Health" It's called The Queen of The Brazilian Wax. I like that!

Highlight of my day so far.....I was half-way through giving one of my regular clients a Brazilian when she realized she hadn't put on her numbing cream first. Yes, her face looked just like this! She seriously was and had a scared kitty.

Time for some dinner time humor: When I give a woman a Brazilian and leave the shape of a triangle on the front of her bikini area, we call it a Martini Glass. When a client comes in and says it has been SO long since her last wax that now her Martini Glass looks like a giant Beer Mug, I admit...I get nervous.
Aside from being co-owner of the Mark and M.E. Salon, I am also a writer. I've written fiction and non-fiction. I love to read. I read every day, often in the middle of the night when I can't sleep. I'm also the kind of reader that likes to re-read series that I like. I received the nicest compliment Saturday morning. A woman told me she read A Promise of Passion series four times. I was blown away! Sales may not be what I want, but that kind of feedback makes it all worth it.

This morning I had three women come together for a wax. It's the second time they came as a group. They call themselves the Brazilian Breakfast Club, because they go to the diner for breakfast when they finish at Mark and M.E. When I googled the movie, I came across this picture of one of the actresses. The face was eerily similar to the faces of the ladies I saw today!
