You can't chill on a beach like that unless you've gotten a Brazilian Bikini Wax at Mark and M.E.

Yesterday a woman was so excited about getting a Brazilian Bikini Wax that she yelled, "I've lost 20 pounds!" Can you believe how much more room she has in her jeans?

Getting a Brazilian Bikini Wax is very liberating. As I walked by one of the wax suites, I heard a woman yell, "I'm Free!"

I got an interesting message from a client today: Note

to self: Don't take a kickboxing class two hours after a Brazilian Wax.

When a woman comes monthly for a Brazilian Wax, it usually takes me about 7 minutes to perform the service. Today, as Billy Joel was singing in the background, a client asked me if I only played seven minute songs to accompany each wax. I appreciate her confidence in my ability to be that clever, but no, I'm not that crafty. It was a coincidence that the song lasted the duration of the wax.

I only snuck away for two business days and I have to wonder...how many big bad bushes await me tomorrow??? Your Brazilian Wax Queen....

About 20 years ago, a man came in with the hairiest back I had ever seen. He was so embarrassed by his hair that he never took his shirt off when he went to the beach or even when he had sex. It was very sad. When I finished waxing him, he put his t-shirt on and started to cry. He had hair on his back since high school and couldn't remember what it felt like to feel his skin. It was one of the most memorable moments of my career.

I started my career waxing brows, just like in this picture. I can't say that my clients look this serene when I'm waxing them nowadays.

I'm glad God granted me a fair amount of junk in my trunk because it is unbelievable how many women hang on to my backside while I wax them!

A woman asked two of her friends if they knew of a place to get a Brazilian Bikini Wax. They told her how great it was to get waxed at Mark and M.E. When she asked them what I was like, they said I was like a "shot out of a cannon." I take that as a compliment, because I feel like a cannon that is spreading love around the world one wax at a time.

I started out my day by removing an ingrown hair that was 1.5 inches long on a woman's bikini line. It was very satisfying. Twas a global day since I did a Brazilian on a hair that was traveling to Australia.

As I was doing the Mark and M.E. bookwork from last week, I was thinking about some of the more memorable moments that happened with my clients. One woman kept saying "Jesus, Mary and Joseph" over and over again. After praising the three of them repeatedly, she yelled "and all the apostles!" It wasn't the first time I heard that. It won't be the last.

Sometimes life gets busy and you don't make the time to keep up with your regular waxing. And when several months pass, you realize that you can't even find certain parts of your body anymore. That is what happened this week at Mark and M.E. A woman was over-the-moon excited when I found her lost lady parts.

Listen up friends: Summer is a really busy time at Mark and M.E. Please try to make your appointments in advance. We hate turning people away but we can only do so much ripping in one day and we hate saying no. It makes us crazy!

When I was in middle school, I wanted to transport chocolate and licorice around the country. It was a strange career aspiration for a young girl, but it was what I really wanted to do. Now, forty years later, I'm making women sweet as candy. Driving a semi....waxing a v-j-jay...strange comparison but accurate, don't you think?

Last night Mark & I went to Hattie's to celebrate another great week at Mark and M.E. I met a really nice couple at the bar who were from Chicago that I talked to for quite awhile. When they were leaving, they told Mark they thought his wife was funny. He agreed. Growing up, I never thought of myself that way. If I have a good sense of humor then I have to give all the credit to my job. The body part I wax is a little funny looking, sounds a little funny to say and is a pretty funny thing to do for a living. I love making men and women laugh through their wax and sometimes the conversations are outrageous, which makes the experience even more fun!  It's ironic that waxing v-j-jays for a living has given me a sense of humor, but I'll take it. I'm feeling very grateful today. Happy Sunday everyone!!

Love sharing salon firsts with you. A girl was drinking at a bonfire one night and telling her friends how excited she was to get waxed the next day. She told them she especially loved having between her cheeks waxed. They didn't believe her. While I was waxing that part of her the following morning, she recorded the image on snapchat and shared it with her friends. We even showed them all the hair I removed on the strip.

Yesterday I removed a large skin tab from a client's bikini line which made me feel like a doctor. In my 3rd Happy book, The Happy Trail, I wrote a poem about being a doctor.  It does have a naughty word in it, but since our president uses the "P" word,  so can I.

Today I removed a skin tab the size of a chewed piece of gum off of a woman's bikini line. It was removed by accident but she was grateful she wouldn't have to pay the dermatologist to take it off. Sometimes I like to play doctor. Come to think of it, I've spent my career allowing my clients to play doctor in a cleaner, more sterile environment!

Mark and Mary Elizabeth are playing hooky today, but the salon will be open at ten like always and our very capable staff will be there to take care of all your beautifying needs! Have a great day!

 I've spent my entire career trying to make an embarrassing and painful experience fun, which is why my posts are often bizarre.
